Policies and Procedures

The Consultation

  • People are complex, and because of this, I like to prepare well for the session, and then allow time to laugh, relax and get to know each other during the session. It is only when you are relaxed and able to be yourself that I can capture those moments of your personality that your friends and family love about you.
  • Prior to your session we will engage in a consultation either in person (preferred), online or by telephone. During this consultation I will gather information about the main subject(s) of the photo session in order to prepare for the actual session time. The more I know about who I am photographing the better your images will turn out. The questions are not invasive or extremely personal in nature, they are simply a collection of your likes, dislikes and personality traits that will help me to customize your experience and intensify the potential for amazing images that fully express who you are at this stage of your life.
  • During the consultation we might discover that I am not the ideal fit for your needs. If I do not feel I can meet your expectations I will be honest with you and refer you to someone I believe can.  I will be happy to refer you to one of my preferred local photographer friends  for services that are better suited to your personality, style, budget and taste.

The Session

  • The creative time spent capturing your images is the most important part of the entire process on the journey to beautiful personal artwork. In order to maximize the quality of your images, I like to take my time during each session, discovering the personality and beauty of each subject. With children it is a time to connect and explore, with tweens and teens it is a time to discover the individual they are becoming, and with adults it is a time to reveal the person they have become. When families come together it is an opportunity to let their love and light shine on and through each other. . . . a process I love.

With every photo session you will receive up to 2 hours of image creation in session with Natanis. That session will result in 24  images for a single session and 48 images for a double session.

Editing Options

  • Every image is hand retouched as needed to enhanced the beauty that is naturally yours.  The level of retouching you would like done on your images is indicated during your consultation, so you do have personal input in the final outcome of your images. Your images are available in Color, Black & White or Chocolate, which you will also specify during your consultation.

Get Published

  • After your session, if you have given us permission to publish your images, you may be highlighted in the daily blog. YAY! Time for you to show off to friends and family – you’ve been published! You will be sent a link online that you can share with friends and family or post on Facebook, Twitter or MySpace.

Proofing

  • All sessions include one proofing consultation which takes place within two weeks of your session. At the proofing consultation you will see all of your images for the first time, and then go over them one by one with Natanis to pick out your absolute favorites. At this time you will have an opportunity to invest in some exclusive specials that are only available during your proofing consultation.   Savings often exceed 50% off, so you’ll want to be prepared to grab the specials while you can. The average client spends between $300 and $500 with savings in excess of $1000 when buying one of our exclusive collections.

Please note: All images purchased after the proofing consultation will be at regular à la carte pricing. Collections are available only at the your proofing session and prices cannot be extended beyond that date. Payment arrangements are welcome, but orders will not be placed without full payment received, and arrangements

Retainer, Payment and Pricing

Session Fees

  • Session Investments begin at $100 for a single session and $175 for a double session. Session fees apply to immediate family only, for clients with extended family or for family gatherings please inquire about group sessions.
  • Session fees are due either prior to, or on the date of your photo session. Session fees will be guaranteed for the original booking date only. Session pricing is not retroactive. In the event that there is a price increase clients rescheduling original appointments will be subject to current pricing for their new session date.
  • Clients that do not show up for their appointments (and have not directly contacted Natanis Davidsen to make other arrangements) will be required to pay the full session retainer in advance to secure a second appointment. This applies to all sessions including FREE or complimentary sessions and promotions. “No show” clients will not be permitted to be given a second free session regardless of the promotions available, gift certificates, or free session/discount cards at their disposal. Gift certificates will be applied towards the session fees due for that session, and any additional amounts available over the session fee amount can be used towards an additional appointment.
  • Clients that pay in advance have the security of a guaranteed appointment. Appointments scheduled without a deposit are not guaranteed. If the client does not show up for their agreed upon scheduled date, it is considered that the contracted time secured by the client for the photographer has been fulfilled by the photographer and the client does waive any further rights to reimbursement of the retainer fee, and does waive any further right to the session time secured with the photographer via that particular retainer. Additional sessions may be  secured by the client by paying a new retainer/session fee.
  • Session fees paid in advance for appointments can be reapplied towards another date if there is a conflict of interest and the original date cannot be held by the client. This exception will be made one time only, and only in the event that the client has contacted Natanis Davidsen to make arrangements for rescheduling with a minimum 24 hours notice (exceptions will be made at the discretion of the photographer for emergencies and unforeseen circumstances).

Retainers and session fees are for the photographers time and talent only.

Prices

  • Prices for prints, albums and enlargements will be guaranteed for 30 days from the date of your session. Orders placed in excess of 30 days from your session date will be subject to à la carte pricing. Orders paid for in excess of 30 days of your session will be subject to current pricing, prices are not retroactive.
  • Clients that are enrolled in a payment plan will be guaranteed the prices quoted so long as they maintain the agreed upon payment arrangements. Clients breaking the agreed upon payment arrangements will be subject to current pricing for the remaining amount of their order. Orders will not be placed until they are paid in full.
  • Prints will be held for a MAXIMUM of 3 months once the client has been notified of their arrival. Orders that have not been picked up within 3 months from the studio may be permanently destroyed or used for display in the studio, unless prior arrangements have been made. Clients who are in breech of contract waive their right to their prints and will not be refunded in part or whole.
  • Orders will not be processed until the balance owing has been paid in full. Payments made by cheque will not be processed until the cheque has cleared through the bank. This adds an additional 2-4 weeks to your order processing time. Returned cheques will be charged a $50 NSF fee to cover banking fees incurred and inconvenience. Orders paid for with NSF cheques will not be placed until they are paid in full by cash or credit card including the accrued NSF charges. Clients with NSF cheques will not be permitted to pay for future orders or services by cheque.

For faster processing it is best to pay by cash or credit card. Email money transfers and Paypal are available for your convenience.

Client Satisfaction

Communication

  • Client satisfaction is important to us at Natanis Davidsen Photographic Art. In order to provide you with the very best services we need to maintain open communication. I will reply to client inquires within 48 hours during the week, and inquires made over holidays and weekends will be responded to the next business day. I ask that you also make an effort to be in communication with me and respond to calls, emails or text messages as soon as possible.
  • Clients who refuse to remain in communication by ignoring communication efforts should not expect to be made a priority when they do finally make an effort to be in communication with us,  as we are a very busy studio and base our services according to a “first come first served” policy. When you step out of the line of communication you  place yourself at the back of the line of clients and cannot be guaranteed timely delivery of services. Of course we understand that there are sometimes extenuating circumstances and emergencies and we will make every effort to be accommodating and understanding in these cases.

Your Session Guarantee

  • The majority of my clients come to me because they have seen my work and love my style, or they have been referred by a friend who has worked with me in the past. I love the process of meeting people and developing a relationship with them that often extends beyond the working relationship. I am very approachable and transparent with my clients, and prefer to think of them as my friends. As a journeyman hairstylist of 12 years(prior to making the switch to photography) I have well established the art of working with people, putting them at ease and having fun with them! As a hairstylist and business owner I learned the importance of treating people well. You can rest assured that I will always treat you like you are someone special, because I  really believe that you are!
  • The consultation process is designed to make the most of your photographic session, discover the unique personality that is your alone, and weave those special things into a session that captures the important details of who you are. It is attention to detail that makes my images stand out, and as I grow in my art I am becoming more intuitive and skilled at bringing something new and unique to my clients. It is my attention to detail that assures when we are all done you will have something more than just a picture, you will have personal heirloom art. If you chose to opt out of the consultation portion of the process I cannot guarantee your images will have the same attention to detail and personal touches. You will still have great photos, but the potential for them may not be realized to it’s fullness.
  • Simply put, if you don’t like your images I will re-shoot your session at no additional charge! My goal is happy clients, and I have a very high rate of satisfaction from my clients! Please be aware that if you request a second shoot you will not have access to ordering images from the first session, as those images that were deemed unsuitable to order from will be permanently destroyed.
